A fun casual event was organized by Udaan with an aim to remove stage
fright and introduce the students of IIIT Kalyani to the
art of public speaking. Students came on the stage and discussed
their love for literature. Interest shown by the audience in topics
ranging from intricacies of a woman to social issues and
from anime to Robert Frost's deep works was commendable.
Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat

The March edition of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat event took the
audience on a ride through the rich heritage of Rajasthan and the
scenic beauty of Assam. Following two programs were organized by
Udaan to celebrate these two beautiful states of India and at the
same time to hone the literray skills of the students of IIIT Kalyani.
1. Group Discussion : Participants expressed their opinion on the
Padmavat issue and the reaction of the native Rajasthanis on the same.
In the process participants got an opportunity to work and
improve on their communication skills and imbibe
in themselves leadership ability. At the same time the
audience learned a lot about the entire controversy surrounding
Padmaavat.
2. WordMania : The heat generated due to the intense group discussion
on the Padmaavat issue was cooled down by this fun
game of words. In this open to all event words
pertaining to the culture of Assam were given out
to the audience and people were supposed to make as
many words as they could from the word that was
given to them. It was enjoyed by students and
faculty members alike.
Le Tour De India
Date : 11th February, 2018
Le Tour De India was an engrossing and entertaining quiz competition
organized by Udaan under the February edition of Ek Bharat
Shreshtha Bharat. It took the students of IIIT Kalyani on an
enlightening voyage through India covering on topics such
as culture, governance, wildlife, tourism and industries.
IIITK-MUN
Date : 31st May,2018
Udaan and Semblance (The Dramatics Club) organised the first ever
IIIT-K MUN on the topic "The Situation in the South-East due to the
Israel-Palestine Conflict." The conference provided the students
of IIIT Kalyani a platform to step into the shoes of a diplomat,
meaningfully engage with the contemporary word issues,
polish their public speaking and communication skills and
at the same time provided them an opportunity to
become more confident and articulate global citizens.
